Focus on the Fabulous
We did it! What a week it’s been! There were many ceremonies and celebrations throughout the week! We kicked things off with Kindergarten Graduation on Tuesday evening, followed by 8th Grade Continuation on Wednesday, Preschool Graduation on Thursday, and culminated with an outstanding CHS Graduation on Saturday morning.
Congratulations to all of our Viking students on reaching these important milestones. It was a great way to close out the school year.

Thursday evening also marked the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new building, and we were thrilled by the great community turnout. Our Viking Honor Choir opened the ceremony with a wonderful performance, and Board of Education President Kim Duran, joined by the rest of the Board, had the honor of cutting the ribbon.
We were especially honored to welcome former board members Misty Palacios and Lyn Bogle, as well as Lillian Garcia, wife of the late Lloyd Garcia. Their presence made the evening even more meaningful as we celebrated a project that represents both our future and the many people who have contributed to our district's success over the years.

This project would not have been possible without the dedication and support of many individuals and organizations. A special thank you goes to Walter Roybal and SLV Federal for their assistance with financing, Alcon Construction for bringing the project to life, and Chris Segura, our Facilities Director, who took on countless additional responsibilities to help ensure the project's success. Julio Paez worked diligently to equip the building with current technology, and Andy Hawkins provided invaluable support with gym fixtures, basketball hoops, and volleyball equipment.

We are excited to have this new facility up and running and look forward to the opportunities it will provide for both our students and the greater community. Hip, hip, hooray!

On Saturday morning, we proudly celebrated the graduation of 31 seniors. The gymnasium was filled with family, friends, staff, and community members who gathered to honor this significant achievement. We are incredibly proud of our graduates and excited to see the paths they choose as they embark on their next chapters.
On Friday morning, we gathered for our annual End-of-Year Breakfast to celebrate another successful school year and recognize staff members who are retiring or moving on to new opportunities.

Congratulations to Sheila Segura, Dianna Valenzuela, Karla Stockley, and Tony Garcia on their retirements. Each of them has made a lasting impact on Center Schools through years of dedication, service, and care for our students and staff. We are deeply grateful for the contributions they have made to our district.
We also want to recognize a few members of our Food Service Department whose accomplishments were not mentioned on Friday. A special thank you to Reyna Miramontes for her years of service to the district. Reyna is embarking on an exciting new adventure as she launches her own food truck business. We wish her great success and encourage everyone to stop by and support her new venture!
In addition, congratulations to Gabby Salazar on passing her ServSafe certification exam. This credential demonstrates her knowledge and expertise in food service operations, and she will now help support Dianna with these important responsibilities in the kitchen. We are proud of Gabby's hard work and dedication. Way to go, Gabby!
While Karla embarks on new adventures, we are fortunate that Tony, Dianna, and Sheila will continue to support the district in various capacities. Their experience, knowledge, and commitment will remain valuable assets to our Viking family.
A heartfelt and humble thank you to my Viking Family for the incredible sendoff you gave me on Friday-both in the morning and at night. 😉
Even though you’re still stuck with me for another month, I was truly touched by the warm wishes, thoughtful messages, and generous gifts. Your kindness and support meant more than words can express.

The friendships, memories, and relationships built over the years are something I will always treasure. Thank you for making me feel so appreciated and celebrated.

You all went above and beyond, and I am deeply grateful.
It has been my honor to serve as your superintendent. We truly have the very best students, staff, and community anyone could ask for.

The accomplishments we've achieved together are a testament to the dedication, heart, and resilience of our Viking Family.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. I am proud of what we've built together and excited for the future of Center Schools. And I especially love my tiara!!
