Welcome Back, Andy Hawkins! New Assistant Director to the Superintendent – Center Schools
Center Consolidated School District is proud to welcome Andy Hawkins back to the Viking administrative team as our new Assistant Director to the Superintendent. Andy brings a wealth of knowledge, a deep commitment to student success, and an upbeat, collaborative spirit that will strengthen our leadership team and district systems.
Andy rejoins Center Schools after serving the past five years as Principal at Monte Vista Middle School, where he worked closely with students, families, and staff to identify and meet school-wide needs. His expertise lies in analyzing and evaluating systems to improve outcomes and build a positive school climate and culture.
Andy’s connection to Center runs deep. He previously served as Assistant Principal at Haskin Elementary for four years and as an elementary Physical Education teacher for eight years. Throughout his career, Andy has also taken on roles such as Gifted and Talented Coordinator, Health and Wellness Coordinator, and high school football coach.
Andy holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Human and Physical Leisure Sciences, both from Adams State University. He is well-versed in curriculum development, instructional coaching, professional development, parent communication, staff supervision, and educator evaluation.
In his new role, Mr. Hawkins will support the district by overseeing and enhancing systems that align with our District Ownership Plan. His responsibilities will include: Title IX Coordination, Child Welfare Education Liaison (CWEL) Responsibilities, District Safety and Security Oversight, Athletics Program Administration, and Educator Effectiveness and Evaluation Support.
Andy will work alongside Superintendent Carrie Zimmerman and other district leaders to strengthen programs, refine systems, and promote a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment for all students and staff.
