Center of Focus Focus on the Fabulous- Sharing Christmas

Center Schools took part in spreading the joy of Christmas through the annual Sharing Christmas event. Every year, for the last six years, Susan Banning has orchestrated this outreach for our district and the community. This year, thanks to generous donations from the community and the school district, we were able to provide Christmas meals and gifts to fifty-five Center families. Our wonderful staff, students, and the community pitched in during this season of giving to support our families. Thanks to the many generous community donors including Del Norte Bank, Warsh Farms, Biel Consulting, and Malouff Farms, who helped to make this a success. It was a team effort as students and staff contributed time, energy, and resources to ensure that everyone in our Center family could enjoy the Christmas holiday.

Wrapping up 2020

I’m sure many of us are ready to wrap up this past year. Our last week of school before Christmas break went smoothly and we enjoyed some holiday festivities on our last few days together.

The elementary had some fun with Christmas dress-up days.

The kids enjoyed wearing festive, season-appropriate outfits… but to be honest… I think it was more for the adults… just saying!

John Noriega found an entertaining way to have a virtual Christmas concert with his students. We all enjoyed listening to the Christmas tunes!

Our food service team put together a lovely breakfast and it was great to have the School Board on site to help spread Christmas cheer!

Thanks to the Sunshine Committee for hosting the Holiday Gift Exchange 2020 style and the Ugly Sweater Contest. They were both big hits and an enjoyable way to end our year together.

Forward Focus

Here’s to a New Year and a fresh start. We will be back at school on January 4th. We will return to our rotating, hybrid schedule, K-12, for the first week back. We will then transition the elementary to having all students on-site the week of January 11th. It was decided that it was best to give the elementary a transition week before having all students on campus. This way, teachers won’t need to worry about making any huge changes over the Christmas holiday. Rich and his crew are ready to start getting classrooms set up. If you’d like that to happen over the Christmas break, just let me know and we will get Rich’s team on that.

We will be launching our new website and app in January. Julio and our tech department have been working to get things in place for the official launch. Our administration team took part in a training yesterday, to get everyone familiar with the new features. This new platform will help to make communication efforts much more streamlined. Be looking for more information to come!
