Center of Focus Focus on the Fabulous- October 25, 2021

What a great Homecoming Week! Thanks to all the staff that worked hard to make this a special week for our students! From dress up days, to the pep assembly, the parade, the tailgate, and the dance… the week was full of fun activities for the students to participate in. Viking pride was on full display throughout the week!

Mrs. Bishos and Mrs. Mondragon are showing their school spirit!

Students did a great job participating in Hoco dress-up days!

Ms. Hays representing Harry Potter...and we already have multiple Jones in the district... but this is a little too much!

I traveled to Grand Junction on Wednesday to take part in the second convening of the Rural Superintendents Academy. At this session, I met with various district leaders from across the state. This is a great opportunity to share experiences and learn from each other during this challenging time in education. We discussed core beliefs, how to engage the community, and ensure that all stakeholders are a part of the conversation, communication plans, and district strategic plans. In the evening, we had the chance to meet with Diana Sirko and Ron Cabrera, as they shared their various experiences and lessons learned in public education over the years. George Welsh and Alex Carter from the Colorado Education Initiative facilitated the sessions.
