Focus on the Fabulous
It’s just amazing all the fabulous things that go on at Center Schools in a week!
Our JV Knowledge Bowl team took 3rd place overall for the 22-23 season! Congratulations to Elijah Swanson, Noah Swanson, Hayle Larimore, Alicia Pedro-Lopez, Ivan Guaderrama, and Ruben Rendon! They brought home a nice trophy to celebrate their accomplishment!
Wednesday night Stephanie Archuleta represented our district at the annual Teacher of the Year banquet. It was a nice ceremony and Stephanie was highlighted, along with other teachers from the San Luis Valley. Stephanie’s star definitely shone the brightest!
Our track team has been competing successfully this spring and we have several students who are on the verge of making it to the state competition.
The baseball team has been battling hard throughout the season. They will have their last game in Trinidad this coming Saturday. Good luck Vikings!
Middle school wrestlers wrapped up their season and the following wrestlers earned awards:
Osmanny Roman- Rookie of the Year
Giselle Meraz- Viking Award
Michael Archuleta- Heart and Desire
Caden Ruggles- Wrestler of the Year
Saturday evening the auxiliary gym was transformed into a magical, enchanted garden as our high school students celebrated their Junior/Senior Prom. Students were decked to the nines in their finest garbs for the grand march as parents, families, and friends admired our kids on the blue carpet!
Rewind
Last weekend our Parents Involved in Center Schools, under the direction of Lucia Miranda, took students and families on a college visit to Colorado State University. This experience supports our district’s post-secondary efforts as students and parents had the opportunity to get to know about the college experience, tour the campus, and receive information about making CSU an option for our students. There was also some time for fun on the trip and everybody got to enjoy a Rockies game. Thanks to all of the PICs crew that made this possible!
