Focus on the Fabulous
Over Spring Break, Lucia Miranda partnered with EF Tours to provide a group of high school students with an unforgettable seven-day journey to Costa Rica. Nayeli Pablo, Yarely Villa, Andrea Maldonado, Yanixan Padilla, Angel Baca, Ximena Miranda, Camila Miranda, Karyme Chavez, Leticia Baca, and Gabriela Aguilar all had the opportunity to participate in this incredible experience.
Students explored the rich biodiversity of Costa Rica while engaging in meaningful, hands-on learning. Their experiences included a visit to a coffee farm, a hike to Arenal Volcano, and a visit to La Fortuna. They immersed themselves in the local culture by sampling traditional foods, learning to cook regional dishes, and even taking a salsa dancing class. Students also connected with peers from a school in Columbus, Ohio as they traveled together.
This experience encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and make real-world connections to their learning, leaving them with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for different cultures.
A special thank you to Lucia Miranda for coordinating this incredible opportunity for our students.
As they say in Costa Rica- Pura Vida!

Congratulations to Skoglund Middle School wrestlers Zayhir Montelongo, Rogelio Casimiro-Palma, Treycin Lujan, Javier Quintana, and Yadir Hurtado for competing at the state level over Spring Break. With the support of their coaches, these students extended their season and proudly represented our school at this annual event.

Hip, hip, hooray! We were finally able to use our new Board room before break. We held our monthly District Accountability Committee meeting Tuesday afternoon and the Regular Board Meeting followed. Two of our CTE classes have also started classes in the new building! Mrs. Murillo’s Medical Pathways classes and Mrs. Roberts Ag and Health classes are now housed in our new CTE-X Building! We are getting positive feedback from the students on the new addition! More to come….

District Ownership Plan at Work
Priority #1- Curriculum and Instruction
CCSD staff lead rigorous, engaging, collaborative learning experiences in every classroom that align with CCSD Instructional Expectations. Â
First-grade students proudly presented their annual leprechaun traps and accompanying writing projects on Thursday before Spring Break. This fun and engaging tradition encourages students to think creatively as they design clever ways to catch their leprechauns, write detailed plans and stories explaining their ideas, and then bring those plans to life by building their traps. While it’s hard to say how many leprechauns were actually caught over St. Patrick’s Day in the first-grade hallway, we just might discover a few mischievous remnants when we return from break!Â
Priority #2 – Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR)
CCSD develops hardworking learners who are contributors, problem solvers, effective communicators, and future-ready with the skills needed to succeed.
Several Center students took an important step toward adulthood over Spring Break by attending Driver’s Education. By choosing to participate, these students are being proactive in preparing for the next level of responsibility and gaining the knowledge and skills needed to become safe, confident drivers.

Great job, Charli, Dahir, and Jordon! This is a big milestone, and we are proud to see Center Vikings leading the way as safe and responsible drivers—helping keep themselves and others safe on the road.
Priority #3 – Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
CCSD maintains high expectations for student learning and behavior, with structures in place to support all students' needs.
Priority #4- Recruitment and Retention (R&R)
