Focus on the Fabulous

ree

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s a perfect time to reflect on all that we are grateful for in our world, our community, and our district. We are fortunate to live in a great nation with freedoms and resources that enrich our lives. We are lucky to be part of a strong, supportive community and school district that consistently comes together to help one another and ensure our students succeed.

This past week provided several wonderful examples of that spirit in action. Our teachers continue to make learning both fun and meaningful. In Mrs. Pepper’s 4th-grade classroom, students explored the rock cycle through a hands-on science experiment that brought learning to life.

High school students in Ms. Hays' class presented to their classmates on topics of high interest, ranging from later start school days to AI and immigration. The students were polished and professional, and offered solid evidence to support their stances!

In first grade, Mrs. Stillwagon’s class gave thanks at their annual Classgiving celebration.

Our Migrant Education Team hosted a districtwide food drive, turning generosity into a fun competition. Our second graders rose to the challenge, collecting the most donations and earning a well-deserved ice cream party. Thank you to the MEP team for inspiring our students and leading such a thoughtful initiative.

The second-grade team also claimed victory in the Penny Wars competition as part of our ICAP activities. For upper elementary, the third-grade squad took the win. Students from across the building pitched in their spare change, and together, our Haskin Vikings raised over $1,500 to support worthy causes. What an incredible example of teamwork, leadership, and generosity!

’Tis the season of giving, and our Viking family is truly making a difference.
