Honoring the Life of Teodoro “Ted” Hernandez

As we continue to grieve the loss of a beloved member of our Center School District family, we want to take time this week to honor the life and impact of Teodoro “Ted” Hernandez.

Ted, a proud graduate of Center High School, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 26. In the days since his passing, the outpouring of love and memories shared by students, staff, and community members has been a testament to the impact he had on all of us.

Ted served the district as a paraprofessional and coach, bringing his energy for education, sports, and student mentorship to both roles. He was a natural mentor who built meaningful relationships with our kids.  He was able to relate, refocus, and motivate those who needed guidance. His positive energy, caring demeanor, and ability to connect with students made a positive impact in a short amount of time.

This week, we will gather as a community to remember and celebrate Ted’s life. Our thoughts remain with the Hernandez family and all who knew and loved Ted.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Hernandez family and to all who are grieving Ted’s passing. His kindness, connection, and care will remain a lasting part of our school community.
