Blue and White- Fight! Fight!

Our volleyball girls played their last home game on Friday night! It was parents night and the senior players were recognized!

A big thank you to our Student Council sponsor, Hanna Hays, who did a fantastic job coordinating all the fun activities and events for our students and the community to enjoy!

Rewind

In addition to everything else, the Sunshine Committee organized the annual door decoration contest to ensure that our district looked "spooktacular " for Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Our R & R team wanted to acknowledge Brian and Nicole Neufeld, and Neufeld Farms, for the generous donations they have made to our district over the last couple of years. Most recently, they donated all of the potatoes served for our Harvest Party. Thank you, Neufeld Farms, for being great community partners and supporting our district!

Our very own Chris Segura, Facilities Director, just completed his training at Pinnacle Career Institute and received his certificate of completion for HVAC/Refrigeration course. This training will give our district more control and insight into our local systems. Great job, Chris, for taking on this challenge to better yourself and the district. Chris tapped into the district's tuition incentive program, which is also part of our R&R efforts. This year, we have supported five staff members in furthering their education with over $12,000 in tuition incentives.

Chris Hintz, our district librarian, held the annual book fair during our Parent Teacher Conferences. Students and families had the chance to visit the library and pick out some great literature and other fun items!

District Ownership Plan at Work

Priority #1- Curriculum and Instruction:  CCSD staff lead rigorous, engaging, collaborative learning experiences in every classroom aligned with CCSD Instructional Expectations.

Priority #2—Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR): CCSD seeks to develop hardworking learners who are contributors, problem solvers, effective communicators, future-ready, and empowered with the skills necessary to meet and handle the challenges they will face in today’s world.

On Wednesday and Thursday, students engaged in enriching ICAP activities designed to empower them for success in today’s world. They heard from inspiring CoolSpeak presenters, participated in team-building exercises, and attended leadership workshops aligned with our PWR efforts.

Thank you to Dr. Ruggles and the CYPD team for their dedication in planning such an engaging experience. Their hard work gave students valuable insights while allowing our teachers to collaborate in their Professional Learning Communities. This collaboration benefits our students and strengthens our entire educational community!

Priority #3- Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS):  CCSD will maintain high expectations for student learning and behavior.  Structures are in place to support academic and behavioral needs of all students.

Parent Teacher Conferences and home visits took place on Wednesday and Thursday.  Parent-teacher conferences and home visits foster strong partnerships between families and schools. These interactions allow open communication, allowing our teachers to share insights about a child's academic progress, behavior, and social development. When parents are actively involved in these discussions, they gain a deeper understanding of their child's strengths and areas for growth, which can enhance their support at home.

Home visits, in particular, allow teachers to build trust and rapport with families in a comfortable environment, helping to address individual needs and cultural contexts. Together, these practices strengthen the home-school connection and create a more supportive and cohesive learning environment for students, ultimately leading to better educational outcomes.

Priority #4—Recruitment and Retention: CCSD is committed to attracting the best and brightest to teach our students. Our goal is to recruit, train, and retain highly qualified teachers. Effective educators are the single most important school-based factor determining student success.

The R&R team successfully hosted the Harvest Party and Board of Education Meet and Greet during our Parent-Teacher Conference on Thursday. We enjoyed a fantastic turnout for the Pep Rally, where families were treated to a delicious potato bake at the Harvest Party. We distributed our vibrant blue Viking Pride t-shirts, a huge hit to promote school spirit, thanks to Mr. Noriega's excellent design. This event also allowed families to connect with teachers, fostering stronger relationships within our school community. Overall, it was a wonderful celebration of collaboration and school pride!

Board President Kim Duran, along with Board Representatives Miguel Rios and Lyn Bogle, attended the Harvest Party and met with staff and community members!
