Center of Focus-Focus on the Fabulous

We had a great week celebrating our amazing staff!  Focus Area #4 of our District Ownership Plan is Recruitment and Retention!  CCSD is committed to attracting the best and brightest to teach our students.

Our goal is to recruit, train, and retain highly qualified teachers and staff.  Effective educators are the single most important school-based factor determining student success.   Our recruitment and retention efforts include maintaining a positive staff culture and climate.

We want our staff to experience a work environment that prioritizes transparency, communication, and values their contributions as a part of a collective team impact. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of our R & R team for helping to coordinate the great activities and services… and thanks to our fabulous Viking team for their daily commitments to our students and district!  We DO have the Best of the Best!!

Congratulations to Aaron Valadez for being recognized by CHSSA as part of the 2023-2024 All-State Second Team @ 144!  That’s quite an accomplishment.  You make us #Viking Proud!

Our Lady Vikings will be heading to Mancos to take on Sedgwick County in the regional playoffs.  The girls are ranked 24th this year.  This is the 8th time in 9 years that they have qualified for the regional tournament.  Good luck girls!  We Believe in YOU!

Rewind

Last week was busy with a variety of activities.  The CLD A-Team, made up of Anna Bishop, Alex Magness, Amanda Alanis, and JoAnn Lopez met to prepare for the upcoming state visit.  The team has been working hard to put together the MLD program guide and professional development plan in place.  This is and will be ongoing work to ensure ALL of our students have the appropriate programming and instruction so that they can perform at high levels and be successful in life.

The District Ownership Team (DOT) had their monthly meeting to get ready for the launch of our Ownership Plan to the community at our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences.  We are excited about the work that is being done and in our efforts to share that with our community and All stakeholders.

Adventure Vision was on-site to deliver glasses to our students.  Thanks to Wendy for putting that together to support our students with their vision needs.

The Safety Team met to review policies.  The team will be making updates to safety and security policies and presenting those recommendations to the Board for approval.
