Focus on the Fabulous
Kimberly Muro was selected as this year’s Center High School representative for the Spud Bowl Queen. Kimberly’s selection was based on her impressive work ethic, her involvement in school organizations including Key Club, and her participation in athletics, volleyball, and basketball. Kimberly is debating between attending Adams State and Colorado State to pursue a career related to social work. She aspires to make a meaningful impact in the world by helping others through service. Congratulations to Kimberly! We are proud of how she represents the district as a Viking!
We had some athletic successes this weekend. Our Lady Vikings took 3rd place at the Thunderbird Shootout. Alicia Rios and Ciara Paez both earned All-Tourney team honors.
Our CHS wrestling team was the tournament champion at the Fowler Tournament.
A number of our wrestlers took top-place finishes. Shout outs to Michael Archuleta, Fran Villa, Aaron Valadez, Martin Palma, and Jesus Valadez all took first place in their weight classes! What a great way to start the season!
Rewind
On Tuesday we had a site visit from CDE’s Language Partnership team. The visit was focused on reviewing our CLD programming. The team conducted classroom observations, met with instructional staff and administration, and provided feedback on the program guide that has been developed. CDE’s team was impressed with the work that is being done in our district and said that we had solid programming in place. We will be debriefing with them tomorrow and will design next steps for finalizing the guide and planning for continual improvement of the program.
The R & R team met on Thursday. The team is preparing for the Christmas party which will be held on December 21st. Details to follow. The R & R efforts are the district’s #4 Improvement Strategy in our District Action Plan. The team will be meeting to set specific goals related to what needs to be accomplished this year.
